Police have arrested two teenage boys after a huge seat was thrown from the third floor of a Westfield shopping centre and landed just inches away from shoppers.
In footage posted on social media on Saturday, a man, wearing a grey hoodie, can be seen inside Westfield in Stratford, London, hurling a blue pouffe from the top floor down to the bottom, before cowardly running away.
The person filming pans down to the ground floor where the chair has landed just inches away from innocent members of the public with a caption reading: ‘No way bro almost killed someone’.
Now, it has been revealed that a 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and remain in custody.
A spokesperson for Newham MPS said: ‘This was a serious incident and we would encourage anyone who may have further information to contact the police.’
As the boy initially struggles to pick up the chair in the footage, the camera man can be heard saying: ‘There’s no way this guy’s doing it. Oh my god.’
When he finally musters up the strength and throws it over the glass panel, it flies past multiple floors before landing with a loud thud.
It narrowly missed one oblivious shopper and caused several others to whip their heads around in shock.

The group of boys, including the one who launched the seat, the camera man and another, then sprint away from the scene, shouting inaudibly, as they ran up an escalator.
As they reach the top, the young man says: ‘I can’t believe I did that.’
The clip went viral on TikTok, with many people rushing to the comment section.
One wrote: ‘Westfield London looks like a war zone most days from what I see on line. Gang of yobs just running riot. Would never in a million years go there with my kids.’
A second accused the boy of attempted murder, writing: ‘If there was a mother and a pram with her baby underneath then no one survives that. It’s attempted murder and he should be found.’
‘I’m imagining this falling on an elderly person or a toddler. I’m imagining that would potentially kill someone,’ a third agreed.
Another chimed in, posting: ‘They knew that would cause serious harm or death, and it didn’t even bother them. How can we live amongst such animals?’
