Cirencester, Cotswold District of Gloucestershire, is a quintessential English town and it’s a great place for a day out in the UK.
It offers many of the same aspects tourists will find in York and Cambridge which are much busier destinations and often full of tourists.

One must-visit place in the town is Cerney House Gardens – a well-kept walled garden on a Victorian estate.

While you’re in the town, you can wander around its quaint streets and explore the range of independent cafes, restaurants and shops. You can also visit the Corinium Museum which holds a collection of finds from the Roman town of Corinium.
The museum takes visitors on a journey through time and charts the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern day.
A visitor on Tripadvisor said: “Excellent timeline layout of the artefacts and history of Cirencester, with a major focus around the Roman times as Corinium.
“Everything was really well presented, from the largest mosaics to the smallest finds, with just the right amount of information available without swamping visitors.
“This is one of the best museums we have visited and would certainly return and enjoy it all again!”
Cirencester is a vibrant market town in Gloucestershire, it is located just minutes away from the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds and can be accessed via the M4 and M5 motorways.
The town is located near to Bibury, Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold which makes it an ideal base for visitors wishing to tour the Cotswolds.
If you’re hoping to take a nice walk in spring, you should visit Cirencester Park.
The large green space is a great place to take a long walk and it’s also within reach of the town centre.
Inside the park there is a cafe and restaurant where you can stop by for a bite to eat or a drink.
