College basketball freshmen who are making a case to be lottery picks
Here are 3 freshmen who are playing their way into becoming lottery picks for the 2025 NBA Draft.
Kentucky basketball has never lost to Oklahoma in three meetings all time.
Tonight is different: The Wildcats and Sooners will square off for the first time as SEC foes at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
UK hopes tonight plays out the same way as the prior three matchups versus OU.
The most recent game between the two was part of the 2010 Maui Invitational. A then-top-10 Kentucky squad earned a 76-64 victory in a first-round contest behind a 29-point, 13-rebound performance from Terrence Jones.
In 1987, UK escaped with a 75-74 win on senior day at Rupp Arena, with Ed Davender (21 points) and Rex Chapman spurring the upset of No. 12 Oklahoma.
The first clash was mere months after World War II ended, as the Wildcats topped the Sooners, 43-33, in Lexington on Dec. 21, 1945.
Kentucky and first-year coach Mark Pope enter tonight’s game sporting an 18-9 overall record and a 7-7 mark in SEC play. UK is No. 23 in the new USA TODAY Coaches Poll and No. 17 in the AP Top 25 rankings. Oklahoma (17-10, 4-10) isn’t ranked in either poll.
Here’s what you need to know to follow today’s game from home:
UK and Oklahoma are slated to tip off at 9 p.m. today at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Betting odds: Kentucky is a 2 ½-point road favorite (-102) on DraftKings, which set the over/under at 162 ½ points (-105). The money line odds are Kentucky -142, Oklahoma +120.
The contest between the Wildcats and Sooners will air on SEC Network. Roy Philpott (play-by-play) and Richard Hendrix (analyst) will have the call.
