Staff and residents at Glebefields Care Home in Drayton enjoyed reminiscing about their favourite clothes as they marked the event which ran from February 20 to 24.
They used the week as “a great excuse” to talk about what fashion means to them and to look back on different outfits they have worn over the years.
They swapped photos of their favourite outfits, talked about clothes they had made themselves, and designed their own favourite clothes.
Benazir Shakkir, the home’s acting general manager, said: “Our residents thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing about their favourite fashion moments and sharing stories behind their cherished photographs.
“I was happy to see them light up with excitement as they revisited happy memories from their past.”
Joan, a resident at the home, added: “I have always loved clothes and keeping up with the latest trends.
“I used to make my own outfits when I was younger, I had a little sewing machine and I would look at what the models were wearing in the fashion magazines and run myself up something similar to wear to the dance’’
Glebefields’ life enrichment programme aims to keep residents active and provides a daily choice of physical and mental activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
The care home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers.
