US-headquartered Moss acquired wide-format print and display specialist MacroArt 15 months ago, with the St Neots business rebranded as Moss last year.

Today (25 February), Moss announced that it had bought Rocket Graphics, based in Watford.

Rocket Graphics specialises in creative branding spanning events, retail, and bespoke projects.

Moss UK managing director Michael Green will helm the enlarged UK business, while Rocket co-founder Tim Porter will join the senior management team as group account director.

Rocket Graphics will be renamed Moss, giving the business a unified brand.

The firm has sales of around £12m and employs 62. 

Porter commented: “After 25 incredible years building the business, I’m thrilled to join forces with Moss, a company that shares our values, our commitment to sustainability and a belief that outstanding customer service is a fundamental business imperative.

“Together, we can deliver even greater innovation and value to our clients.”

Moss President and CEO Jason Popp said he was excited to bring two “highly successful businesses and teams together”.

“Expanding in the UK market with a fellow premium provider gives our customers access to both increased capability and proven expertise – all while maintaining the Moss gold standard for exceptional quality and service,” he said.

Green hailed the strategic fit between the two firms, and “a shared passion for transforming our environmental legacy, imaginative and creative teams and a customer-centred ethos that make us a trusted partner in our fast-paced, fast-moving industry”.

“We look forward to welcoming Tim, our new colleagues and our new clients to Moss.”

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Both firms run a raft of specialist wide-format and superwide digital devices and associated finishing kit. Rocket Graphics’ setup includes a 5m-wide EFI Vutek 5r+ roll-to-roll printers, while the Moss UK setup includes Durst P5 500 and SwissQprint Nyala 4.

Moss UK also has a London office in Tobacco Dock. It had sales of £14.1m in the 13 months ending 31 December 2023, and employed 92. 

Moss is backed by Eagle Tree Capital. The group lays claim to a market-leading position in tensioned fabric structures. The group also has operations on the continent in Germany and Poland.
