Indie studio Chock Hoss has just released Threkka on the UK App Store, bringing a combination of real-world exercise and gym-building adventure to the sideworld of Liminalia. This fitness-hacking train-’em-up works with Apple Health, meaning your usual workouts, whether running, lifting, or Pilates, power your progress.
You’ll start with Humbert, a struggling Minotaur actor in desperate need of training. His world’s once-thriving Gym Between has fallen into ruin, and he’s nowhere near ready for its Workout Challenges. The only way to rebuild? Earn Sweat by exercising in the real world and using it to train Humbert and a crew of Champs, each with their own backstory and personal hurdles to overcome.
Building a better Gym Between means unlocking new equipment, completing challenges, and bringing in more members. Each session you log, whether through an Apple Watch, another fitness app, or even a fitness-based RPG, feeds into your progress. Threkka isn’t limited to a single workout style. However you choose to move, the app turns it into measurable progress.
Plus, your Champs aren’t just training partners – they each have their own journeys. Humbert might be first, but you’ll also meet Kaiya, a Yurei with a complicated past, and Wally, a Windigo influencer trying to make it big. As they grow stronger, so do you.
Before you go on, check out this list of the top adventure games to play on iOS right now!
Threkka runs on fitOS, a parallel universe operating system on your in-game phone. You’ll use it to track your Champs, manage workout data, and even take PhaseTime calls from Liminalia. Expect some guidance and occasional sarcasm from Ray the Unicorn, whose navigation skills leave a lot to be desired.
Begin your fitness journey now by downloading Threkka on the link below. It is free-to-play with in-app purchases. Visit the official website for more information.
