This tiny seaside town in the south of England is often forgotten about but it is due to get an exciting refurbishment.
Selsey in West Sussex is an isolated location due to being surrounded by water on three sides making it harder for people to reach.
There is only one road into and out of the town which is known for its pretty coastal landscapes and peaceful atmosphere.
Its beach is undergoing a £3 million redevelopment due to worries it could permanently disappear, reports The Sun.
The money is going towards a new sea defence which will stretch across 2.5 miles in hopes that beach erosion will be reduced.
Jonathan Brown, Chichester District Council’s deputy leader, said: “This money is vital in order to help us investigate options to reduce the risk of coastal flooding and erosion to Selsey.
“The coastal defences for Selsey involve a number of elements, including seawalls, rock revetments, groynes, and beach.”
Selsey is known for being a great place to go stargazing and it is also one of the best places to try crab in England.
There are just 10,000 people who call the town home, creating a friendly atmosphere.
Nearby are the areas of Chichester, Bognor Regis and Brighton which are popular coastal spots for Brits to visit.
There are a range of cosy pubs in the area which you can visit after a walk along the beach or around the town.
One place where you can head to for a walk is Selsey Bill which is a popular lookout point.
A visitor on Tripadvisor said: “Go to the car park in Selsey Bill and enjoy fabulous, panoramic views across to the Isle of Wight and Portsmouth.”
Another penned: “Good place to walk along the sea wall, nice place to sit for the views and excellent place for sea fishing all year round. Car parking is close and tea and coffee sold from the caravan/cafe on the beach.”
If you’re looking for a seaside spot to spend the weekend, Selsey could be the perfect place to enjoy a quiet couple of days away.
