Good morning, BBN.
Well, it’s not the best morning after last night’s performance for the Kentucky Wildcats, who fell 98-84 on the road to the Ole Miss Rebels.
There’s not much to say after that performance. I’m really not one for moral victories, especially when this team has set the bar much higher than what we saw against the Rebels.
Ole Miss came out on fire and never cooled down, but the blame should solely be on Kentucky’s defense. Ole Miss had 24 assists to one turnover, and shot 54.47% from the floor. You aren’t going to beat anybody when you give up numbers like that.
The 2nd half was too late for the Cats to show up. Despite the fact that they played a nearly perfect half, it wasn’t enough.
This team is now in danger mode. They’ve lost four of their last five games and the last two might be the worst outings of the year.
Lamont Butler’s importance has never been more recognizable than now. If the Cats have any hope for a March run, Butler has to come back as soon as possible.
