Following their disappointing loss to Vanderbilt on Saturday, the Kentucky Wildcats have officially entered the danger zone.
The Wildcats have dropped two straight, and despite playing “well” in their loss to Alabama a week ago, moral victories don’t count in the win column — especially in Southeastern Conference play.
This week, Kentucky is staring a world of trouble right in the face as they head to Tennessee tomorrow for a game where they are considerable underdogs. The Volunteers are coming off a narrow loss at No. 1 Auburn on Saturday, and their home crown will be prepared to give Kentucky a warm welcome.
The odds are stacked against Kentucky for Tuesday’s game, but they will vastly improve on Saturday when the team hosts John Calipari and Arkansas. Cal’s Razorbacks are very much having a down season and would present a winnable game for Kentucky, but the Wildcats will need to play more consistently than they have been to avoid another upset. No game is easy, especially with Andrew Carr likely out for both games this week.
As of today, Kentucky is sliding in the national rankings.
The NET Rankings dropped Kentucky from No. 12 to No. 14, while EvanMiya moved Kentucky from No. 18 to No. 22 (one slot behind Louisville).
DRatings slid Kentucky back four spots from No. 12 to No. 16, and Haslametrics now has the Wildcats at No. 22 compared to No. 20 last week.
Check back here throughout the day for updates on where Kentucky stands in the official rankings!
