A hiker has revealed where to find a beautiful but abandoned set of sculptures resembling a mini Italian village in the middle of the UK countryside. The breathtaking find is a spitting image of a medieval town in Rome or Florence and even has its own tony castle and Pisa tower.
One building has a silouette of a lion etched into it while another appears to be a a fountain with a face carved in it. All the structures are made of concrete and are built upon a body of rocks.
Wildlifelift, who shared the find in a clip on TikTok, said the hike to the site was “perfect for anyone wanting an adventure” and praised the level of detail in the village.
The hiker also shared a postcode to the nearest village and provided directions to reach the hidden area, which included parking in a random Welsh village in Snowdonia national park and following a cobbly trail near the road.
Along the way, people will stumble across a home believed to have been lived in by the man who created the village, according to Wildlifelift’s clip.
The TikToker said even locals were not sure why the mini village was built. “I did ask a local what the story was behind these Italian buildings but he wasn’t too sure,” Wildlifelift said.
“But they are absolutely fascinating and so much detail’s gone into them. It’s amazing.” Wildlifelift then carries on to find a hidden tunnel in the forest and shares breathtaking views of Snowdonia national park.
“Excellent video” one user wrote. “So beautiful and really loved your video. Great to see hidden gems,” said another.
A third said: “Not sure but i think the cave is actually a test hole for a tunnel machine. Don’t quote me on that though.”
