Having announced its intention to launch its first overseas store last year, sportswear specialist Gymshark has now opened those debut doors in prestige location The Dubai Mall.
The store’s on the ground floor of the mall, which is said to be the second-largest in the world (by total area), and visited by over 54 million shoppers yearly.
It becomes the former-pureplay e-tailer’s third physical store following the openings of a major flagship on London’s Regent Street in late 2022 and in the capital’s Westfield Stratford City mall last summer.
We’re told the new store “embodies Gymshark’s signature aesthetic”, featuring mannequins modelled on community members, specialist areas showcasing hero products, and luxurious personal shopping suites.
The physical launch accompanies key local e-commerce services in the region with a dual language site and app, faster shipping times (including same-day delivery) as well as exclusive limited edition releases for the Middle East.
Gymshark GM of wholesale and retail Hannah Mercer said: “As soon as we announced our intention to open in The Dubai Mall, the anticipation started building and it’s fair to say it grew to fever pitch.
“That’s why I’m so proud that the doors have opened today to our incredible community. To be in such an amazing location in one of the most iconic malls in the world is a real ‘pinch me’ moment.”
She added: “The store looks incredible. I think everyone is going to love it. And opening the doors to our first permanent store outside the UK is a huge step in our omnichannel strategy.”
