The Vivienne Westwood label is continuing its tradition of high-profile campaigns and for SS25 has enlisted none other than Juergen Teller to photograph the collection against backdrops and “playful sets” by Bernhard Willhelm.
The company said the “portraits… transcend the mundane and show the elegance of individual spirit. Inspired by an image of Diana Vreeland standing in a red room; a jungle backdrop, referencing Juergen’s imagery of gorillas in their natural habitat — bringing the outside inside. The glamour of Marlene Dietrich poised in a studio, destroying her own effigy in an evening gown. Transparency and tulle nods to the grand dame of haute couture, Madeleine Vionnet. Vibrant red and purple — each colour with its own allegory”.
Creative chief Andreas Kronthaler said of this season’s approach: “Fashion is about beauty and joy; it links us to each other, which is important for the world we live in.”
The models featured include Kronthaler, alongside Tish Weinstock, Luc Defont-Saviard, and Rafe Crane, with styling by Sabrina Schreder and hair by Sam McKnight.
Vivienne Westwood’s most recent results showed the company with a 31.5% turnover leap in 2023. Revenue from continuing operations jumped to £133.22 million and gross profit rose by 25.8%, reaching £77.85 million. Operating profit was up from £38.4 million to just under £44.2 million and net profit for the year increased from just under £30.9 million to just over £33.6 million.
