The Kentucky Wildcats, with the addition of former Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year Jaxson Robinson, have a promising roster going into Mark Pope’s first season with the program.

The loss of John Calipari earlier this offseason and the numerous potential 5-star recruits that went out the door with him led to quite the roster rebuild. However, Mark Pope and Co. were able to assemble what’s widely regarded as one of the best transfer portal classes this offseason.

Pope has a few home-grown talents like Travis Perry joining the squad, but most of his production will come from the transfer portal, where he inked seven of the top 100 transfers in a ranking from Aaron Torres.

Koby Brea, the Dayton transfer, who could’ve also chosen from Kansas and Duke but opted for Kentucky, came in at No. 9.

Jaxon Robinson and Lamont Butler were No. 14 and No. 15, respectively, with Andrew Carr and Amari Williams sitting at No. 29 and No. 34.

Those five could likely be starting for Kentucky next season with ample size, scoring, and shooting on the court. Brandon Garrison and Otega Oweh also cracked the top 100, coming in at No. 57 and No. 98, respectively.

The Cats are going to have a roster full of firepower, and by adding Perry and Trent Noah, the top two recruits from the state, should have a good mix of up-and-coming talent and stable veteran leadership.

While the Cats aren’t expected to be a top-10 team in the preseason rankings like we’ve all been accustomed to, they may solidify themselves early as one of the best in the SEC.
