Many of the Manchester Airport jobs will be in the redeveloped Terminal 2, set to open fully later this year after a £1.3bn investment
Airport security guards, lounge hospitality and terminal operations staff are wanted at Manchester Airport and its sister airports. Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which owns and operates Manchester, East Midlands and London Stansted Airports, is advertising around 250 job vacancies.
The group is holding a job fair at Wythenshawe Forum on Simonsway, Wythenshawe, this month, with more than 1,200 roles from 20 employers up for grabs.
Many of the Manchester Airport jobs will be in the redeveloped Terminal 2, set to open fully later this year after a £1.3bn investment, with more than two dozen new shops, bars and restaurants.
Other airlines that will be represented at the fair include Jet2.com and Ascend Airways, as well as airport service providers Dnata Catering, Swissport and ABM.
Retailers and franchise operators include Boots, JD Sports, HMSHost, Estee Lauder Companies, SSP, Blakemore Retail and Airport Retail Enterprises.
Manchester Airport managing director Chris Woodroofe said: “At Manchester Airport we are proud to serve the North – and that doesn’t just mean helping get people to the places they want to fly to.
It also means fulfilling our role as a major employer in the region, giving local people the chance to access a range of rewarding careers and helping people earn money that boosts the North’s economy.
“We have hosted a number of these events in recent years as the airport’s operations have continued to grow. More than 1,300 people came to our most recent jobs fair in November and we got great feedback from employers.
“2025 is an exciting time to be embarking on a career at Manchester Airport, with the culmination of our decade-long programme to transform the airport now almost upon us. If you want this to be the year where your career takes off, we’d love to see you at Wythenshawe Forum later this month.”
The Airport Academy, which is run in partnership by Manchester Airport and Trafford & Stockport College Group, will also be in attendance promoting its free pre-employment support programmes.
These include fully accredited training schemes for those who are on Jobseekers’ Allowance and require additional support before applying for the jobs.
The free event will run from 10am to 1pm on Thursday, February 27. and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about a career at the airport by speaking to employers operating on-site. Entry must be booked in advance through tickets website Eventbrite, here.
